Here is my uplifting message to a creative person (being one myself).
One mindset that helps me when going through struggles as a creative person is that everything is a story.
If you are going through some challenges right now, this post is a little reminder for you… (I actually need to remind myself about this more often.)
I also included a video in case you’d like to listen to this instead. You can even make it your daily practice during the times when you need that extra boost of support and encouragement.
I hope it helps you cope with all the difficult stuff because it definitely did help me!
Spoiler: We got this.

When everything is going absolutely awful in your life, remind yourself that you’ll get out of it anyway eventually. Just like anything in nature, our life is cyclical. After every winter comes spring, after night there’s always a morning so this too shall pass. And then when it does… you have a story!
A story that you can tell and help others get through the same obstacle you were going through. And this might not necessarily sound too promising at the moment, but the worse your situation is, the more fascinating your story will be. Only because it will show one more time that even when it seems like there’s only darkness ahead, the light finds its way sooner or later.
You are basically producing new material for your art because you are going to have a lot of reflections and new thoughts in this process of dealing with struggles and growing, really. Like, when JK Rowling was creating dementors, she was inspired by her own teenage depression… which made a lot of sense to me when I learned about it.
A key thing here is that… If it is your personal thing, your personal journey, you are the one who has to cope with it. To take the best out of it we have to make it our own win. We can ask for help and take help but we shouldn’t put the responsibility on someone else.
We are going to handle this and we are going to contribute to our self-worth instead.
This is how self-confidence is being built: through learning how to get through yet another challenge. The worse things are at the moment, the stronger resume you’ll have for your future self. The harder it is at the moment, the more powerful you will come out of this.
I am not trying to turn this into a toxic positive statement, I do acknowledge that problems are hard and frustrating, failures and losses are heartbreaking and it usually feels like it’s never going to get better but… It definitely will and it’s not that bad for us after all.
We got this.
