We so often forget that our body is a walking miracle — so many things are happening inside of it every second! In this post, we focus on appreciating and expressing gratitude for our body.

Alright, time to meditate!

Find a comfortable seated position. Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Feel your belly expand when you inhale, and when you exhale, relax and let go of any tension.

One by one, bring your awareness to each part of your body and thank them for letting you experience this life in all its fullness. I’ll guide you through it.

Thank your eyes for letting you see all the wonders of this world.

Thank you ears for listening and hearing.

Thank your nose for catching the scents of your favorite flowers and foods.

Thank your mouth for letting you express yourself.

Thank your lips and teeth for letting you share your beautiful smile with others.

Thank your mind and your brain for letting you grow, learn, and become your most authentic self.

Thank your lungs for supplying oxygen for the whole system.

Thank your heart for pumping life into your body continuously.

Thank your arms and hands for handling all the daily tasks.

Thank your stomach for turning nourishing food into fuel.

Thank your vital organs for working uninterruptedly and maintaining all your body’s functions.

Thank your legs for carrying you through this life.

Thank your feet for grounding you and keeping you connected to the Earth.

Now, notice the sensations on your skin — maybe you can feel the breeze coming in through your window, maybe it’s your clothes that you’re wearing… Feel the pressure of the ground or chair you’re sitting on.

Try to feel your whole body in this space around you. Move your fingers and toes, rub your body gently, or give yourself a little stretch or hug… And when you are ready, open your eyes.

A few minutes of paying close attention to your body can really help you reconnect with yourself.
